The Holmen NHP200 is our Laboratory based Pellet Durability Tester, and is capable of performing a consistently repeatable test, while also recording the results automatically. One additional popular new feature of the latest series 2 machine, is the addition of an Ethernet connection. This now enables network communications, including real-time test results and the ability of a daily summary of results to be sent by email, even to managers working remotely!

The Holmen NHP300 Pellet Durability Tester is ideally suited to a busy, quality focused mill with minimal staff input necessary.
Samples are automatically taken from the production line, the machine tests the pellets by agitating them with air at a fixed 70mBar pressure, ejects them automatically, and a PDI result is provided to the NHP300 control software, or to your own mill management software without any manual input from the mill operator during the test phase.
Taking a sample from the process line fully automatically enables changes to be made at a point that can maximise production, reduce cost, minimise waste and maintain pellet quality.
In addition to calculating the PDI, the amount of ‘dust’ (Fines) can be also be calculated.
Up to four pellet lines can be tested by one NHP300 with the option to return samples back to their original lines too if required.

The Holmen NHP100 continues to be a very popular machine for smaller companies, but increasingly, we are seeing more and more quality-focused feed mills choosing the NHP200 Series 2, this could be due to its ease of use and the repeatable accuracy of the test. For larger companies who manufacture pellets in bulk, we have been providing the Holmen NHP300 together with inline samplers to test at source before too much product has been produced, this can help reduce the need for expensive and time-consuming rework and allows optimisation of production.
