developing, making & marketing technology

People

Tekpro has three shareholding Directors. Together, they form a unique and dynamic team, strong, innovative and challenging.

Malcolm Munday, Managing Director

Malcolm’s career has spanned the entire spectrum of manufacturing operations and production engineering from apprentice, to shop-steward, production management, sales and general management. As an employee, his progression through the ranks resulted from his clear demonstration of ability, enthusiasm and willingness at every level. His success as an entrepreneur has resulted from that same commitment and focus on the task in hand. He continues to invest in both his own learning and that of his team.

His International credentials were established whilst in Sales and led to developing a manufacturing outsource in Taiwan and business partnership in Australia.

Malcolm sets high standards for his own performance and supports those he employs as they strive to do the same. Compassionate, ethical, honest and fair, he is a powerful negotiator with an inclusive leadership style.

Dave Catchpole, Technical Director

A classic inventor with a lifetime’s experience, Dave has the analytical and practical skills, coupled with the determination to always find a better way. Cast in the same mould as successful innovators Trevor Baylis and James Dyson, Dave is largely self taught and has developed his talent in the workshop rather than the classroom. His innate ability to simplify the complex and innovate around the difficult gives a real edge to the products TekPro develop.

He provides the technical leadership within TekPro, stimulating and motivating the team to challenge every aspect of the task before them. Many of TekPro’s most successful products have resulted from Dave’s ingenuity and experience. He is also a highly effective trouble-shooter with a diagnostic mind that not only finds the problem but devises the solution!

John Catchpole, non-exec Director

John is a maverick and electronics engineer extraordinaire. He was sacked for poor attendance at training college yet achieved the top marks for his year. His career has spanned consumer electronics and defence systems, with each employed position ending with his resignation. No one has ever met the standard he expects from a boss and for many years now he has been his own.

Much of the cost of today’s technology is within the control systems. John has an inborn sense of order, contradicted by his unorthodox nature which enables him to develop effective, reliable electronics for all TekPro products. John also has his own company in Luton developing a wide range of both hardware and software electronic solutions in various industries.
Team:
The Directors are supported by a knowledgeable, strong, motivated management team and also have a pool of external specialists, equally committed to the success of the business and the satisfaction of its customers.
